Real Sociedad Gimnástica officially announces the signing of Eduardo Bedia Peláez, the seasoned 34-year-old midfielder hailing from Santander. Bedia, with an illustrious career spanning over six and a half years in India, returns to his roots, ready to contribute his wealth of experience to the blue and white team.
Having debuted in the First Division with Racing Santander, Bedia’s journey comes full circle as he joins Real Sociedad Gimnástica. His early days at Racing, where he joined the discipline at the age of ten, saw him grow both as a player and a person. Notable highlights include his debut in La Liga, scoring his first goal against Finnish side Honka, and subsequent appearances in La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
Bedia’s footballing ventures extended beyond Spain, including loan spells at UD Salamanca, stints with Hércules and FC Barcelona B in the Second Division, and a European adventure with 1890 München. A return to Spain saw him don the colors of Real Oviedo and Real Zaragoza before embarking on a transformative journey with FC Goa in the Indian Super League.
During his six-year tenure with FC Goa, Bedia became an idol for local fans and matured as a player. His footballing prowess saw a move to Gokulam Kerala FC last summer, marking another chapter in his diverse career.
Accumulating 34 matches in the First Division, 136 in the Second Division, and an impressive 105 appearances in the Indian Super League, Bedia brings a wealth of experience to Real Sociedad Gimnástica. His international journey includes seven appearances for the Spanish national team, winning gold at the 2009 Mediterranean Games with the under-20 team.
Now, with his return to Cantabria, Eduardo Bedia Peláez is poised to make a significant impact as a key player for Real Sociedad Gimnástica. His homecoming is met with anticipation and excitement as he embraces his role as one of their own.
