Former India cricketer Robin Uthappa has said that he would be open to coaching an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise in the future. The 37-year-old, who has played for eight different IPL teams during his career, said that he “knows” how good teams in the T20 tournament play.
“I would love to coach an IPL team,” Uthappa told PTI. “I have been around the IPL for a long time and I have a deep understanding of the game. I think I can bring my experience and knowledge to the table and help a team win.”

Uthappa has a wealth of experience in the IPL. He has played 224 matches in the tournament, scoring 5,704 runs at an average of 31.61. He has also won the IPL twice, with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014 and Chennai Super Kings in 2021.
In addition to his playing experience, Uthappa has also been working on his coaching qualifications. He has completed the Level 1 and Level 2 coaching courses from the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He is currently working towards completing the Level 3 course.
“I am always looking for ways to improve my knowledge of the game,” Uthappa said. “I believe that coaching is a natural progression for me and I am excited to see what the future holds.”
Uthappa’s comments come at a time when there are a number of coaching vacancies in the IPL. Several teams are looking for new coaches ahead of the next season.
If Uthappa does get the opportunity to coach an IPL team, he will be looking to bring his experience and knowledge to the table. He will also be looking to help the team win the title.
In addition to his coaching qualifications, Uthappa also has a number of other attributes that would make him a good coach. He is a very good communicator and he is able to connect with players on a personal level. He is also a very good tactician and he has a deep understanding of the game.
If Uthappa does get the opportunity to coach an IPL team, he would be a very good addition to the coaching staff. He would bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table, and he would be able to help the team win the title.
